SF Follies is a spectacular show that attracts both young and old alike.

- By Mario A. Echevarría, The San Francisco Tribune

Many times we have wondered, what would happen if San Francisco was left without a show that has the magnitude and importance of Beach Blanket Babylon? Well, it would be a semi-serious disaster, as this musical event is not only of great importance to our great city, but also for the thousands of tourists who visit San Francisco every day. They would end up not appreciating a show of national and international reputation, thanks to the efforts of the late Steve Silver.

But now, thanks to the creativity and effort of John Bisceglie and Jason Tarshis, San Francisco has another option, a great alternative, and a show at the same height as Beach Blanket Babylon, but small. We could call it a Lite Beach Blanket Babylon, or a mini BBB. Any name associated with this great group of artists is valid.

There are differences, of course, we do not want to clone one show from another, but as they say here, it has a similar "feeling" or taste. The San Francisco Follies is a new show, which has recently opened, and this world premiere took place in our beautiful city.

It has a cast of 15 artists who do everything and with a thousand wonders: they divinely sing, dance and act and most important of all, make you laugh non-stop with grace and sympathy. The choreography is essential and is the creative work of Kayvon Kordestani.

Using a series of very creative costumes and disguises, making it a symbolic allegory and historical carousel of events since San Francisco was founded, through all its social and political life until today. One of the essential differences of San Francisco Follies from other shows like it is that it is soley based on the life of San Francisco, its political ideology, and even its diversions, good and bad. It is a lovely event for all types of audiences.

The costumes are the work of a team that participated in the production: Laura McCoy, Hollyann Fargher, L. Mattock Scariot, Lou Fargher, Josh Fargher and Monica Avila.

The music is fantastic, using modern songs - known by most, but the lyrics are different, unique and hilarious. This great show and has given much attention down to the smallest detail as though it had been planned with the skill of a team of scientists with a mission to Mars. We could call it: The biggest little show musical extravaganza in the world.

Jenna Davi is the private dancer and Bret Hammon highlights in the same sex chapel, they are two of the SF Follies group, but the whole cast excels and deserves the ovation of applause they receive at the end and during the function. They play thousands of rolls of which I will mention a few: Millie deBenedet and Erica Gerard are great in earthquake inferno, and Jessica Payne in the Dancing Queen.; Tiffany Joy is fantastic in Hot, Hot, Hot and good George Patrick Scott is fun in Swan Lake as a ballet dancer. Other members of the cast are fabulous Tenaya Hurst is in with a little help from my friends, Christopher John Lindstrom, naked miner; Jujuana Sharon Williams is delightful in cash, not just care. In San Francisco is going green: Mandy Wilczynski , Sarah J. Weinermeyer with her killer smile, and Ryan McBrearty Jepoy Ramos charm in Aquarius.

But each of the artists has an essential role and maintains a flawless performance with the elaborate and titanic work they have to do. Their voices are angelic, each melody with new lyrics and choreography used for each sketch is a delight, working in harmony, but one cannot describe the indescribable ... come in, judge for yourself, and enjoy a musical unique in it's genre.
